Your schtick is annoying sometimes. Sometimes its very "casual duels can be fun" other times its "casual duels are better than meta duels" which is an okay opinion to have if you don't act like its anything other than an opinion. In my opinion META duels, even in this meta, are 90% of the time better duels than casual.

My top 5 is Branded, Orcust, Madolche, Shaddoll, and Dragunity. HM is probably Synchron, Lightsworn, Dark Magician, and Blackwing. All of these decks are super fun to play. They make the list over other decks because when they support, I get really excited about playing with it.

Something to point out is inflation. Jinzo was around $30 during it's time, but that is over $50 in today's money value.

Invoked Lightsworn in early 2017 is definitely my favorite since it was a personal creation. Lightsworn engine + Brilliant Fusion to make rank 4s and put lights in the grave for Mechaba. Milling Aleister and Invocation meant I could banish Aleister with Snow and then use Invocation to get Aleister to hand, and use the Seraphinite extra normal on it Not the best way to play Invoked or Lightsworn, but man is it fun

Gosh, this isnt really something i think of often. I guess currently: Odd eyes, true draco, vaalmonica(recently), war rock (seriously), and fucking valkyries Valkyrie is such a shit deck but i love it because mischief of the time goddess is the coolest card

I’m at the early awkward stage of finding what I like in master duel, played a lot of duel links a while ago and before that had a starter deck when the original series was on tv, it’s hard to know where to invest gems in master duel to not regret my choice and be stuck

just as a pokemon player who likes observing the yugioh community. Pokemon TCG has a big "flex culture" for phrasing... where a small bunch of players will max rarity their deck playing gold/ full art trainer cards or... Full art/ Alternative collector art which can exceed heavy values! like between 40GBP -100GBP 3 factors for value of a card. Rarity, Viability, Collectability. People will chase good cards but if a good card is a collectable pokemon like mew/ pikachu/ zard/ gengar the price shoots up But trainer cards are like 1-2 dollars at most. Standard Ex/ Gx/ V/ Vmax 3-12 quid based on competitiveness To build a pokemon deck a competitive one at minimum rarity can be like 30-40 GBP... but max rarity in pokemon decks can be like 1k its mad but so much better than 1k just for THE DECK :) (we have 60 cards in deck and gold energy cards are expensive based on set) :))

I miss when negates had drawbacks, dark bribe, Severn tools, magic jammer etc. each one had a draw back that could potentially hinder the player but they were still necessary. Now everything negates with no drawbacks, it’s a little bit dull 😢 I don’t want to agree about 2010 being better, because there’s some really cool legacy support now, but it really was.

This argument seems pointless when Rush! is that very reboot but more like a series zero 1st monsters, then special monsters, then special spells and then special traps(monster traps perhaps)

Favorite decks eh? There's quite a few. For me my baby is Cyber Dragons. That deck got me back into the game more or less when the Cyber Strike Structure Deck came out, although before that I believe I was playing Metalfoes and Dragonmaids. But Cyber Dragons were the deck that pushed me into joining Locals and I've been hooked ever since, for better or worse XD. Swordsoul is another fav. Easy to learn, Hard to master. Dinomorphia, for when I just wanna piss people off XD. Branded is another fun one, tho definitely a more complicated deck to pilot. Marincess is another fun one. My brother got me into that deck funny enough. Rn I just built Exosisters and Spright w/ Melffys, Kashtira Fenrir and the Adventure Package. Oh and of course Blue-Eyes! My first ever deck back when the og Starter Deck Kaiba and Yugi came out. Then there's decks like True Draco, Speedroids, Sacred Beasts, Red Dragon Archfiend, Ignister, Rokket Dragonlink, Dragunity, and so many others. To defend the term one-card combo a little here as a non-yugioh player. Combos are always combinations of multiple cards, however, the combos aren't named after the total cards used in the combo, but rather the amount of cards you need to get in hand to do the combo. The Commander format in Magic has a lot of one card combos because you have essentially an extra card in your hand that's guaranteed every game in your commander, technically it's in the command zone but it's played as if it's in your hand. The point being, if you have any singular card that combos with your commander, it's a one card combo because you only have to worry about drawing one card to do it. This might make more sense if you compare it to some two card combos. In magic, there's a notoriously banned two card combo in our most broken formats, which uses a card called Flash alongside a card called Protean Hulk. Flash plays the Hulk for two mana (at instant speed) and then kills it if you can't pay for it. It's designed to let you go down a card and pay two extra mana to play a creature on your opponent's turn, however, Hulk has a really good death trigger that searches your deck and summons a bunch of creatures to field when it dies, essentially allowing you to abuse the downside of the card in unintended ways. Usually the death effect gets creatures to go infinite with themselves and win you the game on the spot. Technically this combo uses 5, 6, 7 cards sometimes but it's still a two card combo because the other cards just sit in the deck and are played from the deck so you don't actually have to worry about drawing them. The viability of a combo is determined by what's required in your hand to do the combo, not the total number of cards involved in it.

I like anime decks and on that note I'd like to make a suggestion, could you do more matchups from the Gx-Arc-V eras? Because the youngest of that series is 10 years old now, they are at the point where any one of them are nostalgic for various groups of people so that checkmark gets ticked and adds some more variety

I just hate hand traps. I don't care about anything else. I can take a loss from a floodgate. It's the hand traps. These decks can make big NEGATE boards AND utilize Hand traps.
